ITIL® Foundation 2011 English A basic course in ITIL Best Practice Lifecycle

Course description

During the ITIL Foundation training course, you will learn the basic ideas behind ITIL. You will get the concepts, the structure and the shared language that is used by all, who work professionally with ITIL.

You will be introduced to the process way of thinking, and will be able to participate in dialogue on ongoing process improvements in your department.

The course can be finished with the international certification, ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management, which gives you access to the next level within the ITIL qualifications scheme, that you will need if you want to put the theory into practice.

Purpose

The Foundation level is the entry level qualification which offers you a general awareness of the key elements, concepts, and terminology used in the ITIL® service lifecycle.

Participants

The course is aimed at IT Professional employees and managers.

After the course the participants will among other things be able to:

  • Define  and explain the Service Management concept.
  • Understand Service Lifecycle and explain the objectives and value of every phase in the Lifecycle.
  • Define and account for ITIL's key concepts, key principles, and models
  • Account for goals, extent, and roles in the 5 main processes as well as goals, concepts and roles in the remaining 15 processes.
  • Explain the role and goals of the Service Desk
  • Describe some generic requirements to an integrated Service Management technology.

Prerequisites

The participants must have a general understanding of IT.

Form

The course is built upon interaction between theory, problem solving, and group work. The course is conducted in English. Course material and examination are in English as well.

The course is very intensive and we recommend that you spend a few hours each day after class for repetition and preparation.

Examination

From 1.11.2019 examination is mandatory.

The examination is on day 3 between 4 and 5 pm. It is a multiple choice exam with 40 questions in English. The duration of the exam is one hour. The participants will need to answer 65% of the questions correctly in order to pass the exam. It is a closed book examination.

When the exam is passed, you will achieve an ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management.

Please note: The exam is electronic. Please do remember to bring a laptop. Tablet/iPad does not work.
